HHM Has Expanded to Marion! For First Month's Rent Only 1197 Grand Avenue Marion HELPING HANDS MINISTRY HAS BEEN AWARDED FUNDING THROUGH CITY OF MARION WINSLOW ROAD TAX INCREMENT FINANCE (TIF) DISTRICT Referrals are now being accepted by Helping Hands Ministry for first month’s rent when (a) an individual or household is transient, plans to stay in the area for an extended period of time; or (b) is moving from a temporary shelter to a more permanent living arrangement; or (c) is being evicted because one month’s payment will not forestall evictions in current housing. Applicant must have exhausted Linn County General Assistance (892-5850) or Veteran Affairs (892-5160) benefits. No deposits will be paid with these funds. Applicant must pay rent deposit. Applicant must show that there is a stable source of income/support to pay ongoing months’ rent and fall within the income eligibility guidelines. Landlord must be verified with appropriate city assessor. All rent must be paid to verified owner of the property to be rented. Landlord must be willing to accept payment from Helping Hands Ministry for these funds. Documentation of applicant’s situation is required. Shelters are asked to provide third party verification of dates residing in shelter. Appointments are required and are to be made by calling Helping Hands Ministry at 366-2651 Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Scheduled appointments will be seen at Living Water United Methodist Church’s extended office at 1197 Grand Avenue, Marion on Tuesdays.
